- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
- Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer, then drop spoonfuls of cherry pie filling on top.
- Spread remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese and cherry layers.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of almond extract to the cream cheese mixture.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
